Hello everyone! I'm back home after an adventure that took me all the way to Wyoming. Yes, I went looking for legendary wild animals amongst geysers and canyons... I finally went to Yellowstone! 🤗
I didn't have my computer while exploring the wilderness but I did want to draw a little bit in Yellowstone, so I bought a tiny notebook from the campsite general store and grabbed a pencil! From that moment my motto was: GOTTA SKETCH 'EM ALL!
Yellowstone is very colorful, even its name has a color in it! And guess what... there are actual yellow stones all over the park!!! 😋 The Grand Canyon of Yellowstone is truly a wonder, but you have to see it with your own eyes. My sketch doesn't even capture a glimpse of its magnificence, let alone the colors... But it surely was an inspiration. A breath of fresh air at the top of the world!
Driving on the main road that loops around the park, it's not uncommon to see a line of cars slowing down. That is a sign that a wild animal appeared! Trainers must be very careful near them: they know powerful fighting moves and they won't hold back if you try to catch them (on camera) too close!
The most common one we spotted was definitely the Bison, also called Buffalo! Let's see what the Pokedex says!
BISON, THE BUFFALO POKÈMON:
A bison can grow to be over 6 feet tall and 11 feet long
Bisons can run faster than a Horse or Ponyta
Both male and female grow horns
Bisons can learn the move “plow snow”, if they already know "head bump"
Basic stage bisons are an orange-red color until they evolve
We also saw some Elk, a big male walked near our campsite and greeted us goodmorning!
Many smaller animals hopped out of the tall grass while we hiked! A Rabbit, a mama Grouse with her many Grouselings, Canadian Geese, Ravens, Marmots, Squirrels and Chipmunks!
They were hard to catch for sure, as they don't sit still for one second 😁
I was really hoping to go to Yellowstone, get lost and be surrounded by wolves at night. Oh wait, maybe that's a terrible idea... Well, I really wanted to see a wild Gray Wolf: we looked for them at dusk in the Lamar Valley, but alas, no Wolf was spotted. They are true legendaries and that's only fair that they have a very low encounter rate!
I did hear them howling at night while camping. It was a mix of fascinating and spooky feelings that I really enjoyed to experience.
There is one other thing that I really wanted to see and it did not disappoint me. I suppose it has never disappointed any tourist! It's called Old Faithful for a reason, and it's a geyser that has become the star of the show. Every 90 minutes or so, it erupts into a massive burst of boiling water and steam! It is quite spectacular: the water Pokémon Trainers will be amazed by this power of nature that surpasses even the most powerful Blastoise using Water Cannon!
Guys, this trip was pure fun in full respect of nature. I recommend to anyone to go visit Yellowstone, and if you've never been and don't know where to start, write me a message, I'll be happy to tell you some stuff I learned and chat with you!
Take care, 'til next time!!
As the Adventure continues...
